In registering my adherence to the aims of the Anti-Zionist League I declare that I reject the IHRA definitions and examples which claim that anti-Zionism is the same as anti-Semitism.
Although accusations of anti-Semitism are frequently used by Zionists to negate criticism of Israel and it’s supremacist policies, I believe there is a clear difference between irrational hatred or dislike of Semitic people (which includes not only Jews but also Arabs and other Middle Eastern peoples) and a determination to oppose Zionism.
Zionism is a political movement created at the end of the 19th Century as an attempt to get support among religious Jews and non-religious people of Jewish background for an independent state based on Jewish supremacy.
While this movement stressed nationalist ideas of a “homeland” for a “people”, the Balfour declaration saw it as a colonial opportunity to divide and rule the people of Palestine following the defeat of the Ottoman Empire.
Zionist Jews are indoctrinated from infancy to believe that they are God’s chosen people and superior to others. Zionists seek power through control of various institutions in Britain and other countries. Their loyalty is first to Zionism and Israel and they blackmail and bribe politicians to pursue their agenda.
Christian Zionists have their own strange reasons for supporting Zionism based on biblical interpretation around the second coming of the messiah. They wield huge financial and political power in the USA which they use to support Israel.
The Anti-Zionist League seeks to counter this malign influence by publicising the names of organisations controlled by Zionism and also retail and manufacturing firms which are owned by Zionists or which supply Israel with funds or equipment.
I reject the ideologies of colonialism and racial or religious superiority and affirm my Anti-Zionist beliefs.
